Yesterday night I made Spinach Hummus, and it was yummus! :)
Here is what I did...
1 cup of cooked kabuli chana (chickpeas)
1/2 cup spinach
1/2 tsp til seeds (roasted)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (roasted)
few sprigs of soya leaves (optional)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lemon's juice
salt to taste
Put all of these in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Add water as required while the blending. I preferred to use the same water in which the channa was cooked.
It can be served hot or cold.
Hummus is usually served with Pita bread. But in India where it is difficult to find it in your corner grocery shop, I recommend trying it with dry toast or even chappatis. It still tastes as good!
